Paraglider Suspension Line Repairs & Replacement

At 406 Paragliding, our APPI Licensed Paraglider Maintenance Shop provides professional suspension line inspection, repair, and replacement services.

Over time, paraglider suspension lines can shrink, stretch, become damaged, or lose strength. These changes can affect the wing’s designed trim, inflation characteristics, handling, and overall performance.

Our suspension line services include:

  • Replacement of broken, damaged, or worn suspension lines.
  • Custom fabrication of replacement lines using appropriate line materials and manufacturer specifications.
  • Replacement of upper, middle, lower, and stabilo lines.
  • Inspection of line attachment points, loops, and connections.
  • Brake line replacement and adjustment.
  • Suspension line length measurements and comparison with manufacturer specifications.
  • Non-destructive line strength testing.
  • Inspection of risers, maillons, and line connections.

Replacement Lines Made In-House

We manufacture replacement paraglider lines in our workshop using appropriate line materials, dimensions, and construction methods. Individual replacement lines are available for installation at our shop or shipment directly to customers.

Precision Laser Trimming

When suspension lines change length unevenly, the wing’s trim can move outside the manufacturer’s specifications. Our precision laser trimming service measures line lengths and identifies adjustments needed to help restore the wing’s intended trim.

Paraglider Laser Trimming & Wing Inspections

At 406 Paragliding, our APPI Licensed Paraglider Maintenance Shop provides precision laser trimming and comprehensive wing inspections to help maintain your paraglider’s intended performance, handling, and safety.

Over time, suspension lines can shrink or change length unevenly, altering the wing’s designed profile and trim. These changes may affect inflation, handling, speed, and overall flight characteristics, even when the wing appears to be in good condition.

Our laser trimming and inspection services include:

  • Precision laser measurement of suspension line lengths.
  • Comparison of measured line lengths with manufacturer specifications.
  • Evaluation and adjustment of wing trim.
  • Inspection of suspension lines, risers, and attachment points.
  • Fabric porosity testing to evaluate air permeability.
  • Fabric strength testing using appropriate inspection equipment.
  • Non-destructive suspension line strength testing.
  • Inspection of canopy fabric, seams, ribs, and reinforcement areas.
  • Brake line length and adjustment checks.
  • Inspection of leading-edge support rods and structural components.

When Should Your Paraglider Be Inspected?

We recommend following your manufacturer’s inspection schedule. Many manufacturers recommend an initial trim inspection after approximately 30 hours of flying, followed by periodic inspections based on flight hours, age, and operating conditions.

For more information about paraglider inspection requirements, line measurements, fabric strength, and porosity testing, see BGD’s official Paraglider Inspection Recommendations.

You should also consider an inspection when purchasing a used paraglider, following significant damage, or if you notice changes in inflation, handling, or flight performance.
