Inspections for purchasing / selling second-hand used wings
Selling your paraglider? We can inspect your wing with our “pre-sale inspection”
This inspection focuses primarily on fabric quality and line strength.
This check costs $150.00 & includes:
- Fabric Strength
- Porosity
- Line strength test using the non-destructive method, does not include any line replacement.
- Visual inspection of lines, risers and canopy to identify any repairs needed
- Trim is NOT assessed

We use the APPI (Association of Paraglider Pilots & Instructors) method of non-destructive line testing. Always seeking to improve testing procedures, APPI has developed and validated a non-destructive line strength testing protocol.
We subject the line to a calculated load based on the manufacturers specified strength and the percentage of wing loading. Using this method a good line won’t need to be replaced, we don’t need to load the line till it breaks, only a bad line will break. We use a digital force meter coupled to an actuator and a load cell to accurately record line strengths.
Not all lines need to be tested, Dyneema holds its strength but shrinks more than Aramid and unless the line shows signs of damage may not need to be tested.
Aramid lines don’t shrink as much as Dyneema but lose strength much faster than Dyneema and need to be strength tested more often.

Rigifoil Tension
Now that manufacturers are designing B and C wings with longer rods. We have been seeing wings with problems from the support rods especially upper surface trailing edge rods which are quite long when compared to the leading edge. Fabric shrinks over time and the rods can also change dimensionally. Sometimes the rods are too short other times they can be too long.
