Paraglider Training Lessons — Learn to Fly in Bozeman, Montana

406 Paragliding offers professional paraglider training lessons in Bozeman and Belgrade, Montana, helping beginners learn to fly safely while working toward USHPA P1 and P2 certification.

Introduction & Safety Session $150

• 2-3 hours, equipment rental included.
• No flights. You will remain on the ground and start learning to handle a paraglider.
• Your instructor will demonstrate and fit the equipment you will use.
• Learn how to pre-flight check your equipment.
• Your instructor will check the wind conditions and decide on the best ground handling exercises for your session, choosing either option A or B (possibly both)
• (A) Inflate wing and begin to learn to control wing and keep it flying overhead.
• (B) Inflate and launch your wing by running across flat ground with your wing flying above you.
• Pack & store your paraglider.

One or two mornings on training hill

• Designed for beginners who want to experience paragliding before committing to a full USHPA P1 or P2 certification course
• You must have already paid for and completed our Introduction & Safety session.
• Begin to learn to ground handle a paraglider.
• If the winds cooperate and you’re ready, take off from a low hill, fly a short, straight distance, and then land.
• The cost will be applied to P1 or P2 training if taken within six months.

P1 Paraglider Certification Course $1,000.00

• 5-6 morning sessions *
• Emphasis on ground handling skills
• You will begin to fly!
• USHPA P1 Rating at completion.
• Your full $1,000 P1 course fee will be credited toward the $2,500 P2 certification course, leaving a remaining balance of $1,500
• At Completion of Paraglider Training Lessons for P1 we will give you our student discount towards purchase of your own gear.

P2 Paraglider Certification Course $2500.00

• 15 morning sessions or more *
• P2 Training Includes:
• Ground handling, forward and reverse launches, and landing techniques.
• Weather awareness, risk assessment, and flight planning.
• Ground school covering essential paragliding knowledge and safety.
• Supervised solo flights and progressive skill development.
• Personalized instruction based on each student’s progress.
• USHPA P2 Novice rating upon successful completion of all requirements.
• Bring A Friend: Receive $200 off per person if learning with one or more friends

Training Cancellation & Refund Policy: Paragliding training is weather-dependent. If weather conditions prevent a scheduled lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at no additional charge. If 406 Paragliding becomes unable to complete the training program, the remaining unused portion of the course fee will be refunded. Course fees are nonrefundable if a student chooses not to continue or becomes unable to complete the training.

The time needed to complete any training can vary depending on factors like weather, the student’s abilities, how often they can attend sessions, and other considerations.
